Clinical Director

Martin moved to Bromyard in 2018 after living in Pembrokeshire and joined Bromyard vets in 2019. He qualified in 1998 and has always worked in small animal clinics. He locumed round the country for 8 years before joining our team. He holds an ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour (Distinction) since October 2018. In his spare time Martin does a lot of hiking, indoor rock climbing and motorcycle riding on his Honda.

Carys Johnson MVDr BSc (Hons) MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Carys joined the practice in 2018. She graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2016, after having completed a Batchelor's degree in Biochemistry back in 2012. She started her career as a mixed vet, but found her bailiwick working with companion animals. Carys enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially emergency work, soft tissue surgery and imaging. Having worked with birds of prey in the past, she has a soft spot for treating our feathered friends, from falcons to injured owls, and is always keen to see any pet chicken that may be in need! In her spare time Carys enjoys exploring the countryside with her gundog Bessie.

Katie Fryer
Katie Fryer MA VetMB MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Katie joined Bromyard vets in 2019. She graduated from Cambridge University in 2016, since then she has worked in companion animal practice. Katie enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in microscopy. In her spare time Katie enjoys gardening, decorating fairy/bird houses and playing with her cats

Lisa King-Magee RVN NCert(Anaesth)

Nurse Manager

Lisa joined Bromyard Vets as Nurse manager in 2017 after working in both first opinion and referral practice since 2003. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia and completed her advanced anaesthesia certificate in 2021. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her young family and cycling. Lisa lives with a wide range of pets including a german shepherd, cats, parrots and various poultry.

Jodie Nunn RVN

Deputy Nurse Manager

Jodie joined Bromyard Vets in 2012, qualifying as an RVN in 2015, then later becoming deputy nurse manager. She has a keen interest in nurse clinics, enjoying getting to know her patients. She also enjoys lab work and inpatient care. Outside of work Jodie is kept busy with her two young children, enjoying walking with family and friends.

Philippa Pound BSc (Hons) DipVN RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Pip joined Bromyard Vets in 2017 and has various interests including dentals, diabetic nursing and imaging. Pip has a particular interest in Emergency and Critical Care and will soon be working towards a certificate in this area. She also enjoys being a clinical coach to the student nurses. Outside of work Pip has a young family, three dogs and a horse. She also enjoys hiking and helping on her parents livestock farm.

Sally Worthing DipAVN (Surg) RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Sally qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1993 and gained her Surgical Diploma in 1998. She has been at Bromyard Vets since 2015, initially to cover maternity leave but is still here! In practice Sally is also a clinical coach for Student Nurses. She enjoys nurse clinics and has a special interest in geriatrics and rehabilitation. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her 3 dogs and exploring in her campervan.

Francesca Withnell
Francesca Withnell RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Francesca started working at Bromyard in 2015 and has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse since 2018. She enjoys anaesthesia, particularly Orthopaedics, medical nursing and lab work. She has a particular soft spot for the geriatric patients. Francesca has recently returned to practice after taking maternity leave and has her hands full at home with a one year old and a boisterous springer spaniel. In her spare time, Francesca enjoys hiking, particularly the Pembrokeshire coastal path and rock climbing.

Millie Clarke RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Millie has been in practice since 2016 and qualified as an RVN in 2021. In practice she particularly enjoys inpatient care and lab work. In her spare time, she is the lead singer in a band, and enjoys exploring and going on adventures with her schnauzer, Norbert.

Vanessa Dawson

Student Vet Nurse

Vanessa joined the practice in 2018 and is currently a 2nd year Veterinary Nurse student. In practice she enjoys nurse consults, in-patient care and laboratory work. In her spare time she enjoys going on adventures with her cocker spaniel, Benji, particularly in Wales and the Shropshire hills.

Student Vet Nurse

Freya has been at bromyard vets since September 2020 after completing a bachelors in animal biology and conservation and a master's in ecology conservation. She then went on to qualify as a vet nurse in Australia. Her interests in practice are inpatient care and nurse consults. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family and going to the gym.

Michelle Tong RVR

Administration Assistant

Michelle has been at Bromyard Vets since 2016. She previously worked within agricultural supplies. Starting out as receptionist, she is now responsible for the practice accounting and managing the healthcare plan. Outside of work Michelle enjoys farming, working her dogs and spending time with her family. Michelle has completed her gold standard veterinary receptionist award.
